The messy, real start to our DoorDash America adventure — and why that’s exactly the point. โจ๐บ๏ธ
We didn’t roll out of town with fireworks and perfect vibes.
We rolled out with a bad battery that we did not realize would die on us less than 2 weeks into our trip!
Yup. After weeks of planning, budgeting, prepping the car, and getting excited to officially kick off our DoorDash America summer journey—our car wouldn’t start. Not even a click. Just a solid, silent “nope.”
So before we could get our travels off and going, we hit the Honda dealership in Ohio instead.
This Is Gig Life: Plans Change. You Pivot! ๐
It’s funny how things work. You set big goals, you tell your audience the launch is this week, and life’s like: “Cool story. Here’s a detour.”
But if there’s one thing gig life has taught us, it’s that the real adventure never starts where or how you planned. It starts in the curveballs. In the sweat. In the moments where your battery is literally dead and your momentum feels stuck—but you keep going anyway.
And maybe that’s the most honest way to begin.
Our First Dash city of the Summer Wasn’t a Delivery...๐๏ธ
It was to the dealership.
We spent the morning at Honda getting a brand-new battery installed. Not the kickoff we expected, but maybe the one we needed. Because here’s the truth: this journey isn’t about showing a polished version of life on the road. It’s about showing up anyway. It’s about real gig life, real setbacks, real miles, and real wins.
Why This Journey Matters๐ฌ
We’re not just dashing around the country for content. We’re doing this because we believe in something deeper:
-
That gig work can create freedom.
-
That you can build something from the ground up.
-
That living in motion doesn’t mean you’re lost—it might mean you’re finally found.
This summer we’re chasing sunsets, side hustles, and stories from the road. We’re showing what it really looks like to live off gig apps full-time, city to city, with a goal to build a real business out of this lifestyle.
And if that means a few battery changes along the way? So be it.
๐ธ A Few Pics from our first few weeks on the road!
The Adventure Officially Starts Now ๐ฃ๏ธ๐
We may not have started on time, but we started anyway.
To anyone else out there planning a “perfect launch,” just know—perfection is overrated. Start messy. Start late. Start broke. Just start.
We’ll see you on the road.
